The McIninch Art Gallery was located on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. It opened in April 2001 with a generous gift from The McIninch Foundation. The art gallery closed in 2022, but SNHU will continue to host digital versions of the collection here as part of SNHU’s continued commitment to the liberal arts. This digital collection will remain a resource to benefit the entire institution as well as the greater community of which it is a part.

Item Folded Painting - Study 1(1996) Butler, SharonA painter and arts writer, Sharon Butler is widely known as the founder of Two Coats of Paint, a project which includes an influential art blog, an artist’s residency and other initiatives. The blog has been sponsored by numerous arts organizations including Creative Capital and the Warhol Foundation. In 2015 and 2018, Sharon was a resident at Yaddo, and she was also the inaugural artist-in-residence at Counterproof Press. She has shown work at NADA New York (2014), Pulse iami, SEASON (Seattle), and her 2016 painting exhibition at Theodore:Art in Bushwick was selected as a Critic's Pick in Time Out New York. Butler is New-York based, and, thanks to the generosity of the Two Trees Cultural Space Subsidy Program, maintains a studio in Brooklyn, under the Manhattan Bridge. She is affiliated with the New York Academy of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and Parsons, The New School. Arnold, JessicaJessica is the lead photographer behind Arnold Imaging LLC. She lives in an eco-friendly tiny house in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. She has a diverse background in photography including a Bachelor of Fine Art's degree and over 15 years of experience in the photographic community. Jessica was classically trained to create and appreciate fine art, a camera is her tool of choice. With artistic eyes and familiar tools, Jessica loves to capture those incredibly special, fleeting moments. No matter the technology that surrounds us, a photograph is still worth a thousand words; a tangible record of a fond memory that will last a lifetime. Further Information is available on the Artist's websiteItem Untitled(1900) Valincius, IreneIrene Valincius's paintings and monotypes resemble and sometimes depict such evanescent phenomena as flames, light on water, smoke, and clouds. In her paintings, veils of brilliant color and wax build complex layers of translucency that evoke an air of mystery and of spiritual questioning. Her work has been broadly influential in this region since the early 1990s and is included in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts, and the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University, among others. Further Information is available on the artist websiteItem Untitled, [1972]Ashby, CarlCarl Ashby (1914–2004) was an American abstract expressionist artist who lived and worked in New York City. Ashby was born in Hurley, New Mexico on March 2, 1914. He worked as an artist for the Civilian Conservation Corps before attending the University of Utah, where he graduated with a degree in Fine Arts in 1937. He relocated to New York City shortly thereafter and married artist Estelle Grey in 1938. Grey had moved to New York City as a young woman to pursue a career in fashion design. She attends the Traphagen School of Fashion Design. They met as students in the Art Student League of New York. Ashby earned a Master in Arts degree from New York University in 1959. He taught at the Parsons Division of the New School for 25 years beginning in 1970. During his career, Ashby studied with artists Hans Hofmann, George Grosz, and Morris Kantor. His works and papers are included in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Archives of American Art, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, and the Hood Museum at Dartmouth College.
