SURVEY METHODOLOGY-The statistics in this publication are collected by mail on the Bureau of the Census annual survey Form MA35U, Vending Machines (Coin-Operated). The survey panel includes all known producers, with more than 10 employees, approximately 47 companies. REVISIONS-Statistics for prior years may be revised as the result of corrected figures from respondents, late reports received for which imputations were originally made as described, or other corrections. Figures which have been revised by more than 5 percent from previously published figures are indicated by footnotes. HISTORICAL NOTE-Data on antifriction bearings have been collected by the Bureau of the Census Historical data may be obtained from Current Industrial Reports (called Facts for Industry before 1959) available at your local Federal Depositoroy Library. Nguyen, 301-457-4752. SUMMARY OF FINDINGS In 1994, manufacturers' shipments of coin-operated vending machines totaled $679.6 million, a increased of 15 percent from the 1993 figure of $590.2 million. Shipments of beverage vending machines increased 19 percent from $323.1 million in 1993 to $383.2 in 1994. Vending machines for confections and foods increased 20 percent from $199.2 million in 1993 to $239.0 million in 1994 A description of the survey methodology and related information appears in the text at the end of the publication.
