MA36A -- SWITCHGEAR, SWITCHBOARD APPARATUS, RELAYS, AND INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS 1994 Issued October 10, 1995 Contact person: Wanda Sledd (301) 457-4790 SUMMARY OF FINDINGS During 1994, the total value of shipments of switchgear and switchboard apparatus was $5.6 billion, up 5 percent from the 1993 value of $5.3 billion. The 1994 shipments include power circuit breakers valued at $530.7 million, an increase of 2 percent from 1993; low voltage panelboards, valued at $1.7 billion, an increase of 4 percent from 1993; fuses and fuse equipment, valued at $332.1 million, an increase of 4 percent from 1993; molded case circuit breakers, valued at $1.1 billion, an increase of 10 percent from 1993; duct, valued at $227.9 million, an increase of 14 percent from 1993; and switchgear valued at $1.6 billion, an increase of 4 percent from 1993. During 1994, the total value of shipments of relays and industrial controls was $7.6 billion, up 11 percent from the 1993 value of $6.9 billion. The 1994 shipments include general-purpose relays valued at $675.7 million, a decrease of 10 percent from 1993; specific-purpose industrial controls, valued at $2.7 billion, an increase of 18 percent from 1993; general-purpose industrial controls, valued at $3.7 billion, an increase of 11 percent from 1993; and motor controller accesories valued at $502.1 million, an increase of 5 percent, from 1993.
