Abstract

2011.W6 is a photograph taken from Zlantanovski's body of work called Typology. Typology is by definition an assemblage based on a shared attribute. Regarding Wrench typology, Zlantanovski states " This body of work is inspired by archeologist typologies of prehistoric stone tools. Ancestors of modern humans created the earliest tools by grinding or chopping stones. Over two million years ago the first patented wrench was granted to Solomon Merrick in 1835. This image is a study of human ingenuity and evolution."
