dc.description.abstract	Jorge Dumas was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. Although the artist's formal training was in Constructivism, four years of living among Gypsies and tin miners revealed to him the possibilities of the figurative, and he has since used the human figure as his major vehicle of expression.
