Poor women in rural Ethiopia are disproportionally and negatively impacted. The target population is comprised of twenty women living with HIV in Shashamene, Ethiopia. The project interventions included businesses development skills training, formation of a rotating credit association (Iquib), and linkage to microfinance. This project indicated the intervention resulted in increased assets, income, sustainable microenterprises, and changes in their perception of empowerment.
